Tintswalo is an exclusive safari lodge with unique architecture and stone cladding, under traditional grassing situated on a private Manyeleti Game Reserve concession, within the Greater Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga province. A pristine wilderness reserve nestled between the Sabi Sand, Timbavati and Kruger Park, abounding in big five game and spectacular bird life. The area is unique for its minimal vehicle density and so offering a true exclusive wilderness safari experience. Tintswalo Safari Lodge’s suites and main lodge areas are all situated along a seasonal river bed among an ancient sycamore tree grove. The exquisitely appointed main lodge overlooks a waterhole frequented herds of elephant and other big game. The luxury Explorer Suites and Presidential Suite are all linked to the main lodge by raised wooden walkways. The Baines Presidential Suite is available as a full take over facility or as an additional suite within the main lodge. Explorer Suites The suites are authentically decorated to recall the pioneering times of the nineteenth century African explorers. The air-conditioned suites are situated along the banks of the seasonal Nwaswitsontso River. Providing supreme comfort, privacy and effortless birding, as well as the opportunity to view a large variety of big game from the privacy of your suite. The indoor/outdoor shower leads off from the spacious bathroom which opens out onto the deck. Luxuriate in a private plunge pool or just relax on a lounger under the African sun. Baker Suite – Samuel and Florence Baker romantically travelled together through the African Wilds, an unusual occurrence for their era. This suite has a romantic feel with a beautifully hand carved four-poster bed. Kingsley Suite – Mary Kingsley, a nineteenth century spinster, explored Africa with humble resources collecting fish and insect samples for the Royal Geographic Society. An understated twin or double suite. Livingstone Suite – The most widely known explorer of Africa’s colonial history. A twin or double luxury traveller suite. Burton Suite – Richard Burton, a controversial character know for frequently donning a turban, he translated the Arabian Nights into English. A richly decorated twin or double suite. Speke Suite – John Hanning Speke, a true gentleman, also explored Africa in search of the illusive source of the Nile. A spacious luxury suite with a large four-poster. Stanley Suite – Originally a Welshman, Henry Morton Stanley was the man who found Livingstone deep in the heart of Africa. A beautifully appointed double suite with a large sleigh bed. Tintswalo Presidential Suite: Thomas Baines, an engineer and artist Thomas Baines, famous engineer and artist. This is the presidential suite and accommodates four guest as part of the main lodge or privately. Two complete suites (one double and one twin suite) are adjoined by a lavish private lounge/dining room and kitchen. Predominantly a full private take over facility for four guests. Additional beds can be arranged for children sharing (maximum of 2). Every suite has an extra length double or twin bed, en-suite bathroom, air conditioner, overhead fan, mosquito net, private deck with an intimate plunge pool overlooking a game-friendly river bed and magnificent Sycamore groves. This suite is also authentically decorated to recall the pioneering times of the nineteenth century African explorers. There are two air-conditioned suites which are connected by a spacious lounge, dining and open plan kitchen area. The individual indoor/outdoor showers lead off from the spacious bathrooms which open out onto the deck with a large private plunge pool. The Presidential suite is predominantly a suite booked exclusively for four guests (maximum 6), where guest will have your own private safari vehicle, private guide and tracker, private chef and butler who will see to your personalised itinerary.

What to bring: Anti-malaria tablets are advised all the year round but long sleeve shirts, mosquito repellent, trousers secured around the ankles, plus mosquito netting on every bed, keeps most 'mossie's' away after sunset, which is the only time that Malaria infected mosquitoes are dangerous.Bring sunglasses; cool clothing for daytime and a sweater for the evenings. A warm jacket (Parka) is advised for early morning and evening drives, plus a good pair of walking shoes.
Communication: Every suite has a telephone. Faxes and all computer facilities are available at reception at an additional charge. Guest e-mail and Internet are available in the main lodge.
Children are welcome at the Manor house and Presidential suite. Other suites are however for adults only, unless prior arrangement has been made. Children under the age of 12 are permitted on game drive but at the discretion of the guide, however, dangerous game sightings will be limited. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted on walks.Tintswalo does have a children's programme. Please enquire about the Tintswalo children’s program for young guests.
Electricity: 220 Volt electricity supply. You should bring universal adapters if you want to charge batteries for any electronic equipment.
