Adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park lies 11 500 hectares of pristine African bushveld, which is Thornybush Game Reserve. With an abundance of bird and mammal species including the 'Big 5', it is also home to five exclusive lodges.
All lodges have sparkling swimming pools and offer exciting dawn and dusk safaris from open landrovers with fully qualified rangers and trackers, and bush walks for the more adventurous.
The Guerlain Institute spa offers 18 treatments, including full-body exfoliating, at good value. Thornybush Game Reserve now boasts a Main Lodge with stylish air-conditioned suites and extensive living areas over looking the seasonal Monwana River. Thornybush Main Lodge has 18 suites and 2 family suites and can cater for up to 40 guests.Between exciting safaris take a moment to browse in the intimate library or simply relax at the pool with your favourite cocktail as you bask in Africa's glorious sunshine. An airy lounge, rustic bar and patio overlooks the Monwana River bed. Excellent cuisine can be savoured in the bush or air-conditioned dining room, or at the fireside in the "boma" under a canopy of stars.
There are 20 luxury suites, including two family suites. The family suites are of larger dimension and include an inclusive lounge, which is able to accommodate two children, all sharing the same en-suite facility, these are included in the 20-suite complement and are based on the family suite facilities but now include a private plunge pool, personal butler service, the option of private meals, all local wines, spirits and malts.It is important to note that should both safari suites be booked by one party, we will provide an exclusive landrover with unlimited safaris. Spaciously appointed, each glass-fronted suite has a mini bar fridge, telephone, in and outdoor showers, air conditioners and generous decks.

Binoculars, camera, comfortable walking shoes, sun hats, sunglasses & sunscreen Children: There are family rooms that can accommodate children of all ages. Under the age of 2 they are complimentary, and 3 to 11 years at a reduced rate. Over 12's are classified as adults.Air Charter: Thornybush Game Reserve has two landing strips on the reserve, the bigger of the two is a 1,2km tarred runway and is able to accommodate up to a 16-seater aircraft.Road and Air transfer rates available on request.
