With an abundance of bird and mammal species including the 'Big 5', it is also home to five exclusive lodges. Diverse accommodation caters for most guest needs from rustic understated comfort to luxury of the finest order. All lodges have sparkling swimming pools and offer exciting dawn and dusk safaris from open landrovers with fully qualified rangers and trackers, plus morning bush walks for the more adventurous. An African safari can be a life-changing experience. In the heart of Thornybush Game Reserve you will find Chapunga Luxury Tented Camp. Chapunga has 5 Luxury tents and caters for up to 10 guests.The excitement of dawn and dusk safaris in an open landrover ensures close and unrestricted encounters as you enjoy the gentle nurturing of an elephant calf close to its mother, or a close encounter with a lioness and her cubs. The more adventurous are encouraged to join the experienced game ranger on a walk as he interprets Africa's footprints.Boma dinners are an occasion and an opportunity to select a bottle from a stock of fine wines and to savour the finest fare around a log fire as you recount the days' game experiences before retiring to the lounge for a nightcap, or the comfort of your tent.

Children: Only children over the age of 12 are allowed and there is no rate concession for them.Air Charter: Thornybush Game Reserve has two landing strips on the reserve, the bigger of the two is a 1,2km tarred runway and is able to accommodate up to a 16-seater aircraft.
