KANA KARA CAMP

Accommodation in Okavango Delta

Star Rating:0

Kana Kara is not a game lodge, but rather a semi permanent tented safari camp comprising 6 meru type tents.

The Okavango delta is characterised by multitude of waterways isolating many islands of differing sizes, the water originates high in northern Botswana before fanning out to form this wildlife sanctuary. It is between the Vumbura River and the Salinda spillway that the vast plains of NG12 are situated. On the edge of the Salinda spillway, as the river meanders along its course, a picturesque site was located for Kana Kara. Kana Kara is not a game lodge, but rather a semi permanent tented safari camp comprising 6 meru type tents, each with en-suite facilities and an outdoor shower. The facilities are modest yet comfortable, and are positioned to command uninterrupted views of the northern delta. The camp is ideally reached by plane from either Maun or Kasane, and this makes the position perfect for guests travelling either to or from the Chobe / Victoria Falls, or from the Kalahari. Freshly prepared meals enjoyed at scenic dining spaces will punctuate your safari experience which will include mekoro and walking safaris, aswell as open vehicle game drives. The rate includes all meals, safari activities, accommodation and a selection of wines, spirits, malts and soft drinks.

Straddling the Selinda spillway and the Vumbura River lies a vast wilderness area, home to an abundance of wildlife and vistas from horizon to horizon, it is along the shoreline that one will find Kana Kara. An authentic safari camp, elegant in its simplicity – can accommodate 10 guests in meru tents. Year round open vehicle game drives, walks and mekoro safaris will occupy a typical day in this area of the delta, returning for an interactive dining experience beneath ancient trees.
